  SolidWorks has arrived here at Grand Island Senior High School.  This extremely advanced 3-dimensional modeling software leads the world's designers through the most technical designs.  The possibilities are absolutely limitless!  Our students in Design & Drawing for Production are currently using this design tool to further enhance their competitive edge in the design world.  This software will be used in our CAD classes next year as well.  Sign up for DDP (Design & Drawing for Production), and CAD (Computer-Aided-Design)today!

Course Outline:

• This course is designed to familiarize students with the world of technical drawing.  The basics of technical drawing and three-dimensional visualization will be explored in detail throughout this course.  Students begin by learning about the drawing industry, future careers, and how mechanical drawing relates to the workplace.  Students will advance through sketching, lettering, the proper use of drafting equipment, auxiliary views, sectional views, an introduction to CAD (computer-aided-drawing), structural drafting, as well as working with graphs and charts to interpret data.  Students will become proficient with the tools of the trade as well as the techniques used in it.
